Located on its own campus in St Leonards on Sea the college’s School of English has specialised for over 40 years in delivering English language training to international students. All levels of tuition are available from absolute beginners to advanced. There are over 50 different nationalities studying at the college and students of all ages (minimum age 16) come to study for pleasure and for professional purposes. Many combine their studies with a holiday or other type of course.

How many lessons of English Language will I receive each week?

English lessons take place every morning and last a total of 15 hours per week. We will test your English language level on arrival and fit you into the mixed nationality class which is best suited to your requirements. A variety of learning methods are used including group work, partner exercises, role play and instruction. We will provide you with an appropriate text book which is yours to keep at the end of your course.

Full use is made of our facilities such as the language laboratory and self access centre. There is free access to e-mail and the internet.

Is there the opportunity to visit places of interest?

Should you want a day away from the golf course you are welcome to join one of the may social and cultural trips which we run. Visits to places of interest such as London, Cambridge and Oxford take place at the weekend. There is a small charge for each trip. In addition to these we run local visits on some afternoons to places such as Rye, Battle, Eastbourne and Brighton.

Golf

Whether you're an expert or a complete beginner, you'll receive first-rate tuition covering all aspects of the game. We group students with players of similar ability with a maximum of four students to one professional. Small class size ensures individual attention to your game. All students recieve full access to our video analysis centers and our practice facilities, including seven practice putting greens, an academy hole with bunkers, and the 18-bay, covered driving range. Using James Andrews' teaching manual, instructors work with students to create practice routines and their own personal development plan.
This naturally undulating course is set in the heart of 1066 country, three miles from the famous Battle Abbey built on the site of the Battle of Hastings. Sedlescombe Golf Club is in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The 18 holes blend perfectly into their woodland surroundings.

The lakes, ponds, bunkers and woodland on the 6,269 yard, par 72 course offer a challenge to the scratch golfer, while the average golfer will enjoy some spectacular golf with a variety of obstacles in one of the prettiest corners of England.

Driving Range

The covered, floodlit driving range at Sedlescombe Golf Club has 18 bays, all equipped with top quality range mats and balls. The practicing golfer may aim at a variety of greens and targets that extend slightly uphill over its 250-yard length. Mirrors help you keep an eye on your position. The driving range is open until 9:00 pm during the winter and 10:00 pm in the summer.

Putting Greens

Our seven, fully-irrigated, sand-based putting greens are a centrepiece at the golf club and floodlit for evening use. All seven of the putting greens vary in both length and slope. This gives you the perfect opportunity to practice all types of putts before heading out onto the golf course.

Academy Hole

The 60 yard practice hole allows for full short-game work with realistic ground conditions and two bunkers of varying difficulty. The academy hole allows you to work on a range of chip shots including the chip and run, the flop shot and also the dreaded bunker shot. The hole is surrounded by trees offering a beautiful setting for practice.

Luxury Golf Lodge

After a day of intensive golf tuition, the Golf Lodge offers welcome luxury and comfort to golf school students. Excellent soundproofing and peaceful surroundings ensure a good night's rest! The 20-room lodge overlooks the 9th green and the 10th tee at Sedlescombe Golf Club, only three miles from the historic town of Battle in lovely 1066 countryside.

Each room features exceptionally comfortable, pocket-sprung mattresses, large baths with twin basins, air-conditioning, television, telephone and internet connections.
