Ball Position

& distance from the ball

Distance from the Ball

With the ball positioned in front of the centre of the club face, lower the butt so it falls to a position just above the left knee with the knee held straight.

Ball Position

With the ball in the centre of the feet and with the feet together, open the left foot 11/2 shoe widths then the right foot 11/2 shoe widths. The feet should now be shoulder width apart with the ball in the centre of the feet with a 7 iron.

The ball position moves roughly one centimetre per club towards the left foot as the number goes down i.e. 6 iron 1 centimetre towards the left foot from the middle, 5 iron 2 cm, 4 iron 3 cm etc. the driver (or 1 wood) ends up just inside the left heel. The feet open parallel to a line drawn from the ball to the target (ball to target line).
